Burning Sugar
A HATCHERY EVENT!

Burning Sugar is the arrestingly intimate story of a black American Boy. Boy shows us his struggles with mental illness, child abuse, queerness, and reality, through the media of songs, video, lights, and magic. This one-of-a-kind show crosses traditional theatrical borders as the narrative unwinds, blurring the distinction between play, concert, performer, and audience. Join us for this workshop presentation, and prepare yourself for the full experience of the Spring production of Burning Sugar.

The Word
An Open Mic for Poets, Storytellers, and Fabulists

The Word welcomes diverse voices and fans of spoken word. We encourage all ages, experience and background get together to share in the mutual adoration of words. The Z provides a platform for poets, storytellers and fabulists to share their work, fostering an open, laid back and encouraging atmosphere for people to read and listen in comfort.

This is your chance to take the mic. Read your own work or share a favorite!
