-Provide a forum that encourages and supports the development of artists, composers, and creative writers of all ages and skill levels;

-Our goal is to become a place of opportunity and entertainment, where artists and audience members are creatively inspired and encouraged to follow their dreams. ZADT operates on the principle that the best way to achieve our mission and goals is to work in partnership with organizations throughout the community.

The physical cornerstone of ZADT will be part of a new facility in Virginia Beach Town Center’s Block 9. The facility includes ground floor retail, a restaurant, an extension of the Cosmopolitan Apartments, and The Z, our permanent home. The Z will include a 300 seat theater and a studio theater with support areas and will also house an audio and video recording studio, indoor and outdoor pre-function event areas, and offices. This facility will be used to host all types of experiences from art exhibits to performances. Construction will begin on this exciting project in the Fall of 2016 with completion expected in Early 2018.

In the interim, ZADT is fortunate to have a prime storefront location in Town Center to begin building our programming, thanks to partnerships developed with Armada Hoffler and the City of Virginia Beach. This 70 seat studio theater is located at 4573 Bank Street, directly across the plaza from the Sandler Center Box Office. Outfitted with the premium sound and lighting equipment, The Z provides an intimate, state of the art experience for audiences and performers. ZADT began programming in this space in the fall of 2015 and have built our programming to quarterly series running year-round.
